Amenorrhea is a physiological condition that most frequently occurs during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding). There are two types of amenorrhea: primary and secondary. Amenorrhea can have a variety of reasons. This exercise describes the diagnosis and treatment of amenorrhea and emphasizes the importance of the interprofessional team in overseeing and enhancing patient care. This exercise looks at when and how to appropriately evaluate this disease, as well as when it should be added to a differential diagnosis. The proliferative phase and the secretory phase, which each last 28 to 30 days, are the two stages that make up the typical female menstrual cycle. The uterine lining begins to shed near the conclusion of the cycle, which is a typical feature of female menstruation.
